Irish Water Slammed By TD Involved In Set Up

A former junior minister involved in setting up Irish Water is slamming the company. 

Fergus O'Dowd says it's shot itself in the foot from the very start.

He's accusing Irish Water of coming across as uncaring and arrogant, and of not explaining why water charges are necessary.

Mr. O'Dowd was responsible for the laws which created Irish Water, but lost his job in the reshuffle in July.

But the TD denies that he's bitter and says he made the same points while he was a minister:

Meanwhile the Taoiseach has said everyone needs to understand the need for setting up Irish Water.

Enda Kenny said he thinks Mr. O'Dowd was just making the point that there's a need for constant engagement with people in relation to Irish Water:
