A man has died after being struck by a train near Coolmine. It happened at around 3pm.
Emergency services attended the scene of what Irish Rail called a "serious incident".
Maynooth/Dublin and M3 Parkway/Dublin services were severely disputed for a time, but Irish Rail said services resumed with delays after 5pm.
At one stage, customers were asked to avoid Connolly Station, which became overcrowded.
