Here's your feel good story of the day!

A dog who became trapped on cliffs off Howth Head earlier this afternoon has been rescued and brought to safety.

The Irish Coast Guard crew were alerted to a dog trapped at Balscaden on Howth Head at around midday.

Hooch, a 12 year old boxer, had fallen 15 meters into the water and scrambled back up onto rocks where he was stuck on a ledge.

His barks had been heard by walkers who alerted the Coast Guard.

The team hauled the dog back to safety with the help of a climber and although Hooch was slightly shaken, he's in good spirits.
