There's further evidence of the city's homeless problem.

Over 1100 people were at risk of losing their homes, according to new figures.

The Dublin Region Homeless Executive said that it had responded to 2560 calls from clients since June of this year.

Practically all were receiving rent supplement while 43 percent were deamed to be at immediate risk of homelessness.

People had either received notice of arrears, a letter of rent increase or had been threatened with illegal eviction.

Meanwhile charities and groups continue to collect funds for homeless services in the run up to Christmas.

Today its the turn of the boys of Belvedere College who are taking part in their annual sleep out until Christmas Eve.
