The Minister for Health, Leo Varadkar, will address TDs and Senators this morning on his proposed new alcohol bill.
Dr Tony Holohan, the Chief Medical Officer at the HSE will also attend the Oireachtas Health Committee.
The Bill sets out to provide health labelling on alcohol products and minimum unit pricing, as well as regulation of marketing and advertising of alcohol.
It will also give enforcement powers to Environmental Health Officers.
