Man Killed In Balbriggan Hit-and-Run

A man has been killed in a hit-and-run in north Dublin.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a serious road crash on Railway Street in Balbriggan shortly after 9 o'clock last night.

A pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was struck by a car. The vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene.

The man received emergency treatment but was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The area remains sealed off for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local traffic diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
