Gerry Adams has appealed to other left-wing parties to work more closely together with a view to forming a government.

He's told his party's Ard Fheis in Wexford that Sinn Féin should aspire to be part of a government without any right-wing parties.

His comments could be interpreted as an invitation to go into coalition with Labour.

He says the goal of all left-wing parties should be to keep right-wing parties out of power.
