An Irish family will jet out to the States today hoping to secure life-saving treatment for their 4-year-old son.

Gavin Glynn from County Wicklow was diagnosed with a rare form of Cancer when he was just 17 months old.

His condition means he has tumours on the muscles attached to his bones and doctors say there's no treatment for him here.

A major fundraising campaign has been launched to collect the money needed to pay for the surgery in Texas - they're now just 50-thousand euro away from their 350-thousand goal.

To donate 4 Euros you can text Gavin to 50300

Gavin's father John Glynn explains how the procedure will work.
