Gardai are trying to find the gun that killed Kenneth O'Brien.
It's believed the 33 year old was shot in the head and then his body was dismembered.
Last night the results of DNA testing revealed that human remains pulled from the water in Sallins County Kildare, were that of the 33 year old.
The latest find follows the initial discovery, over a week ago, of his torso in a suitcase in the Grand Canal at Ardclough.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area to contact them.
They're urging the owners of premises in Kildare and Dublin to check if equipment or rooms have been disturbed.
