A decision to cut armed patrols has reportedly been reversed but only for the north inner city.
Earlier this month reps for gardai slammed a decision to scale back armed policing in a bid to cut the overtime bill.
Now The Irish Daily Star reports management have rowed back on their decision but only for the part of the city that's being ravaged by the Hutch Kinahan gangland war.
It follows the murder of Derek Coakley Hutch at the weekend, who is the 14th victim of the feud.
It's now understood an extra patrol car has been added to the Armed Support Unit to specifically patrol the north inner city.
