Gardai are searching for a man who robbed a cash-in-transit van at a service station in Navan yesterday.

Just before ten past three yesterday, a cash delivery van pulled into the forecourt of a service station on the Dublin Road in Navan.

It parked beside the ATM, and as one of the workers was leaving the van, he was confronted and threatened by a man dressed in black.

His face was covered by a balaclava and his hood was up.

He made off with a cash box in a green Honda jeep, which was later burnt out in the Woodview Court area of Navan.

The jeep’s reg is 01 SO 1627.

The empty cash box was later found in the Bealing Walk area of Blanchardstown.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information in relation to the jeep or who may have noticed anything unusual or suspicious at the service station, where the car was found or where the cash box was recovered from.
