Investigations are continuing into a fatal shooting in Bray yesterday, with detectives focusing on the gunman's suspected getaway van.

The shooter opened fire at Bray Boxing Club yesterday morning, killing 50-year-old Robert Messett.

Gardaí are investigating whether Katie Taylor's dad, Pete, was the intended target - he was one of two other men injured in the attack.

The shooter fled the scene in a silver Volkswagen Caddy van with a Northern Irish registration, before abandoning it on Pigeon House Road in the Ringsend area of Dublin.

He is believed to have travelled through Bray, Shankill and Cornelscourt before abandoning the vehicle.

The suspected shooter is believed to have cycled away after leaving the van at around 8.05am.

Any witnesses - including those who saw the van yesterday morning - are being asked to contact Bray Garda Station on 01-666-5300, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line on 1800-666-111, or any Garda station.
