Gardaí in Dublin have launched an investigation following an alleged sexual assault on a woman in her late 30’s on Saturday the 18th of October last.

It's understood the woman was approached and assaulted by a man while walking through Carpenterstown Park, known locally as Tir Na Og Park on Diswellstown Road in Dublin 15 at approximately 7.30am.

The man is described as being caucaision, 5’8 or 5’9 in height, aged in his late 20’s, with straight brown hair which is short at the back and longer in the front.

He wore braces on his teeth and was wearing a grey hoody top and beige trousers.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses - particularly those who were in the vicinity of Carpenterstown Park on Saturday morning 18th October 2014 between the hours of 6.45am and 7.45am to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda station.

They are also appealing to anyone who may have noticed any activity in the park over the last number of weeks to call Gardai.

Gardai have released the above picture to help identify the man they are looking for in relation to this assault.
