More energy efficient homes would help fight fuel poverty in Ireland.

Research by the St Vincent de Paul shows some of its clients could save thousands of Euro if their BER rating was raised to at least level B2.

Heat and electricity bills have increased in recent years, despite cuts to fuel and energy allowances have been cut.

Brendan Henessey of the SVP says living in more energy efficient homes will make a big difference, but it won't lift people out of fuel poverty entirely:
