A fresh appeal for information has been made over the murder of a pensioner in Dublin city.

Mary Bergin, who was in her 70s, was found dead at her home on First Avenue off Seville Place in the north inner city.

The pensioner's body was discovered just before midday last Wednesday.

Her daughter Moire Bergin appeared in court last Friday charged with her murder and was remanded in custody.

Investigating Gardaí are again appealing for witnesses to come forward. They're also asking anyone with camera footage from the First Avenue/Seville Place or the surrounding area at the time of the incident to make it available to them.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Store Street Garda Station 01 6668000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
