Four people have appeared in court charged with the illegal importation of cigarettes.
Over 40,000 cigarettes worth €20,000 were seized yesterday at Dublin Airport.
The 'Kent', 'Marlboro Gold' and 'Winston' cigarettes were discovered in the baggage of a number of Lithuanian nationals who had arrived on a flight from Copenhagen.
Two women - aged 36 and 64 - and two men aged 41 and 63 - were arrested and appeared in court.
They were charged with the illegal importation of cigarettes and were remanded in custody to appear in court again on Friday 2nd October.
