A former couple are due to be sentenced today for a violent attack on the Luas which left a man out of work for eight weeks.
The 46 year old victim said he’s still deeply traumatised by the attack which happened just over two years ago.
The court was told the 46 year old man got on the Luas red line after a night out socialising and began having some banter with a group of people.
But the tram then jolted and he flew across the floor.
A passenger heard a woman shouting that the victim had touched her.
He was then kicked and beer bottles were smashed over his head.
He suffered a fractured eye socket, head wound, cuts to his lip and severe brusing.
Twenty four year old Aoife Malloy from the South Circular Road and 25 year old Martin O’Connor from Elmdale Park in Ballyfermot have admitted to the assault.
They’ll be sentenced today.
