The first victims of the Carrickmines tragedy will be buried tomorrow.

Ten people including five children died in the inferno at a halting site just over a week ago.

The funeral of Willie Lynch (25), his partner Tara Gilbert (27) and their children Jodie (9) and Kelsey (4), will be held in Bray tomorrow.

The funeral of Jimmy Lynch (39), Willie’s brother, will also take place in Bray at the Most Holy Redeemer Church.

The funeral of Sylvia Connors (25) her husband Thomas Connors (27) and their three children, Jim (5), Christy (2) and Mary (5 months), will be held in Wexford on Friday followed by the burial in Crosstown cemetery.

Meanwhile work is beginning on preparing homes on Shanganagh Road for their extended family - who were left homeless following the blaze.

Glen Druid, a site on Shanganagh Road, which borders Killiney, has now been earmarked as the new home for the 15 people - the local council aims to have the homes ready next year, and construction and refurbishment works have already started.
