The head of the Referendum Commission says there won't be any confusion about the ballot papers for the two referendums next month.

On May 22nd, voters will be asked if they would like to see equal marriage offered to everyone, and if they want to lower the age at which a person can become President to 21.

The Commission is sending a guide to every home in Ireland - which will include photographs of how the ballot papers will look on the day.

Next month's polls are the first since the referendum on abolishing the Seanad - where many voters complained the ballot papers were too vague and poorly designed.

The Referendum Commission says it's sure that the public will not be confused by the ballot papers for next month's refernedums.

People planning to have their say on May 22nd are being reminded to check that they are registered to vote, and that they have less than three weeks to get their name on the supplemented regsiter.

You can also check where you're registered to vote and find out how to move it if you need to on checktheregister,ie.
