Fine Gael's Popularity Remains Unchanged

Support for the coalition remains steady in the wake of the Budget.

That's according to the country's latest opinion poll carried out on behalf of the Sunday Independent.

The Millward Brown survey, conducted earlier this month , shows Fine Gael's popularity remains unchanged on 27 per cent, while Labour is also standing firm at 9 per cent.

However support for Fianna Fáil has dropped three points to 24 per cent.

The Sunday Independent's Political Correspondent Daniel McConnell says it seems unusual that the opposition has failed to capitalise on a tough time for the Government:
