Fine Gael is planning to include a major cut to inheritance tax in its election manifesto.
It's reported in today's Sunday Independent that Enda Kenny wants to increase the threshold for paying the tax from €280,000 to €500,000.
The move would mean most people who inherit a family home won't have to pay any tax.
The proposal mirrors a tactic used by the Conservatives in Britain before the last general election there.
