A Dublin man accused of taking part in a brawl inside a city pub is due to enter a plea today.

Frederick Thompson from Loreto Road, Maryland was extradited from the Netherlands last month to face a charge of violent disorder.

Following his arrest in Amsterdam, Frederick Thompson was brought back to Ireland on foot of a European Arrest Warrant.

Upon his return, he was charged with violent disorder in relation to a brawl at Morrissey's pub on Cork Street in January last year.

A bottle was allegedly thrown during the fight and it's claimed a number of people were assaulted.

Thompson has been refused bail in the High Court because of the seriousness of the alleged offence and the likely sentence upon conviction.

He'll be given an opportunity to plead guilty or not guilty when the charge is put to him before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court later this morning.
