A family is recovering following an aggravated burglary in their Kildare home last night.
Two men armed with screwdrivers burst into a house in Johnstown and held a mum and her two children hostage.
They threatened to harm the 14 year old daughter if their demands weren't met.
Their ordeal lasted around half an hour.
They locked the family in an en suite bathroom, ransacked the house and took valuables before fleeing the scene.
The family freed themselves after about fifteen minutes and raised the alarm.
