Facebook says it wasn't hacked earlier today when its site went down.
Instagram and Tinder was also out of commission this morning as internet addicts worldwide were left twiddling their thumbs for between 30 and 60 minutes.
Users rushed to Twitter this morning to vent their anger and dismay, where they saw hacker group Lizard Squad claim responsibility.
Lizard Squad had previously said it hacked Sony last year, leaking hundreds of sensitive emails and film footage.
But in a statement, Facebook says the outage "was not the result of a third party attack" but instead happened after they introduced a change to their configuration systems.
