The number of people in employment is at its highest level in six years.
According to statistics, the areas hiring the most workers are construction and finance.
Tanaiste Joan Burton says Ireland is now below the euro zone average for unemployment:
"There are now 1.96 million people at work in Ireland. That's the biggest number of people at work in Ireland since, towards the end of 2009. We are now in terms of the number of people unemployed, below the euro zone average."
