An Ebola exercise is to take place at the Mater today.
It will test how the Isolation Unit would cope with a potential patient.
A pretend patient with the symptoms of the deadly virus will be at the centre of a major exercise at the Mater today to see how well its prepared for an outbreak.
A section of the hospital will cordoned off for 20 -30 minutes during the routine and the hse, fire brigade and gardai as well as hospital staff will be involved in the dry run.
Staff will be tested on putting on and taking off special protection gear and will be evaluated at all stages.
Several false alarms have already taken place and health unions have called for more training if there's ever a real case.
