Eastlink Bridge Tolls To Be Kept

Councillors have voted to keep charging drivers to cross the Eastlink bridge, when Dublin City Council takes control of it at the end of next year.

At the moment a Dutch company operates the bridge but the council will get full ownership once that contract finishes at the end of 2015.

Councillors were told at a meeting last night that the tolls could generate 4 million euro a year in revenue.

But Conor Faughnan of AA Ireland says it's not a fair way to raise money:
