Dun Laoghaire’s main shopping street looks set for a major revamp.
Businesses have been briefed on a five year plan that aims to bring people back into the sea side town.
This plan will see Dun Laoghaire’s main shopping street split into four different quarters; retail, commercial, artisan and interiors.
Each district will have different paving, street furniture and decoration so shoppers will know what part they’re walking into.
There are also plans for a free shuttle bus to bring shoppers into the town and it aims to develop 15 kilometres of cycleways.
Another key part of the plan is growing the cruise ship business to the town.
A planning application for a new cruise ship berth in the harbour will be sent to An Bord Pleanala at the end of the month.
The plan was launched at a conference looking at the future of towns in Ireland.
