Dublin’s Lord Mayor is honouring a number of groups and individuals at a special awards ceremony in the Mansion House later.
Broadcaster Aine Lawlor, legendary Dublin footballer Dessie Farrell, singer Finbarr Fury, songwriter Pete St. John join Inner City Helping Homeless and H.O.P.E. in receiving the Lord Mayors Award.
Christy Burke told 98fm news what it’s all about.
"Sometimes it's made to people who're on the front line who never get recognition or get. Or others, it could be working away quietly and you may never have heard of them. And others who are out there doing a good job where the State maybe has failed and they don't want recognition and they are on the front line".
