Water restrictions for the city have been extended.

Dublin City Council says supply will now be turned off every night at 8PM until at least next Thursday.

The limits had due to be lifted from Monday.

Teams are working to fix an undisclosed problem at a treatment plant in Kildare.

Government Minister Leo Varadkar has told 98FM News he's not happy that Dublin City Council hasn't specified what the problem is.

Earlier, engineers installing water meters in West Dublin were forced to stop work by protesters.

The Irish Water team, working in Littlepace, were surrounded by around twenty people angry at the restrictions.
