23 people were made millionaires this year thanks to The National Lottery. Figures released by Lotto HQ have revealed that most of the winners of 2018 bought their tickets in the capital.
Over the past 12 months, €436 million in prizes were won by lotto players in 2018 and the most awarded was Dublin with €30 million and 49 top tier wins in EuroMillions, Lotto, Daily Millions and Telly Bingo.
Tipperary came in second place with just over €19.5 million being paid out to lotto winner, and Cork came in at a close third with €19 million.
The biggest prize won in 2018 was €17 million that was scooped up by a Tipperary syndicate last June.
