A Dublin man has been jailed for years for using a fake social media profile, to convince a young girl to have sex with him.

Twenty six year old Conor O’Keefe from Oakdale Close in Ballycullen was convicted last October.

The court heard the accused had set up a profile on the website tagged.com and pretended to be a 13 year old girl called Julie.

He started chatting with the 15 year old victim and later claimed he was Julie’s older brother Adam.

He persuaded the young girl to get into a taxi and to come to his house where they had sex in the summer of 2011.

O’Keefe was convicted last October and was sentenced this morning.
