A Clonsilla man awaiting trial for the murder of his wife’s son has been refused an application to travel to Spain for two weeks.

Last year, David Mahon of Ongar Village returned from Spain to face prosecution over Dean Fitzpatrick’s death.

The 23-year-old was a brother of Amy Fitzpatrick who hasn’t been seen since leaving a friend’s house on the Costa del Sol in Spain in January 2008.

Dean was stabbed to death in an apartment on the Malahide Road in Dublin two years ago.

Mr. Mahon was allowed travel to Spain in September, but his latest application was refused due to Garda concerns he may not come back.
