A photo of Dublin's Lord Mayor Christy Burke burning a Union Jack has emerged online.
He's pictured holding the english flag in flames at a protest during his Sinn Fein days.
It was posted online by the North Down Progressive Unionist Party who claim the photo was taken outside the British Embassy in January 1996.

He's since left the Republican Party to become and Independent and has no recollection of the photo in question.
He still stands by his decision to protest against English presence in the North by burning their flag:
Mayor Burke has come under fire recently for supporting a motion to block British Royals from being invited to the 1916 centenary commemorations. But he's since withdrawn that stance.
