There’s been broad welcome to news that Dublin’s newest market won’t be for the city’s elite.
The old Fruit and Vegetable building off Capel Street is earmarked to become our version of Covent Garden.
This building has been undergoing renovation for the last 2 years.
It used to house a fruit and veg market near Capel Street but now it’s being turned into the cities newest indoor facility.
Last week, councillors received a draft charter saying they want it to be for ordinary shoppers as well as those looking for artisan goods.
Dublin City Business Association say they hope the council will give start-ups a chance as well as established retailiers.
The 3 million Euro development is due to open this September.
