Dublin Footballer In Hospital After Attack

Dublin footballer Johnny Cooper is being treated in hospital after its understood he was assaulted in Dublin City Centre in the early hours of this morning.

Its believed he suffered stab wounds during the incident which happened on Dorset Street Lower at half past five.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a man -in his twenties- is in a serious condition following a stabbing in Blanchardstown in the early hours of this morning.

It happened at approximately 5.15am in the Whitestown Park area.

He was taken to Connolly Hospital where he is being treated.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to both incidents to come forward.
