Three Dublin-based cooks have been shortlisted in the Euro-Toques Young Chef of the Year Competition.
The theme of this year’s competition is ‘No Chef is an Island’.
Euro-Toques Ireland’s challenge for these young chefs runs over three months and culminates on final day, November 23rd.
The five young chefs that will go into battle and face some of Ireland’s best-known chefs in the final judging process are:
- Luke Ahearne, aged 22, Chef de Partie at Campagne, Co. Kilkenny
- John Fitzmaurice, aged 25, Sous Chef at the Mustard Seed, Co. Limerick
- Chris Fullam, aged 21, 3rd year Culinary Arts student at DIT, Cathal Brugha Street
- Matthew Logan, aged 22, Chef de Partie at Chapter One restaurant
- Ian McHale, aged 26, Senior Chef de Partie at Chapter One restaurant
The winner will go on to follow in the footsteps of some of Ireland's best loved chefs and Euro-Toques members such as Domini Kemp, Paul Kelly, Ross Lewis and Neven Maguire.
