The HSE and the INMO will return to talks at the Work Place relations commission this morning.
The negotiations are aimed at avoiding strike action by nurses at seven major hospitals - including Beaumont and Tallaght - next Thursday.
Nurses have said they will down tools in protest at overcrowding.
