Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision involving a car and a cyclist on Naul Road in Ballymun early Saturday morning.

Online video footage shows three men driving down a relatively quiet road before crashing into the cyclist.

One of the men can be heard saying "go, go, go" after the vehicle made contact.

Gardaí said the cyclist, a man in his 20s, was taken to Beaumont hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Speaking to 98FM, Dublin City Councillor Mary Callaghan for the Finglas-Ballymun area called on Gardaí to "apprehend" the driver responsible for the collision.

"More and more people are cycling these days and it's really important that they are safe on the road," she said.

"It seems that this was a reckless driver. We don't know all the details yet but I really hope that the Gardaí apprehend whoever was involved in this behaviour."
