Scientists in America say they're on the brink of finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes, which affects around 200-thousand people in Ireland.
For the first time, they've been able to develop a treatment that doesn't require an injection of insulin.
The new therapy involves a one-off transplant of insulin-producing cells.
