Councillor Says Money For Liffey Bridge Should Be Used For Homeless

A Dublin city councillor is raising concerns over plans to build a new bridge over the Liffey.

The council will be looking for designers of the new structure to connect North Wall Quay with Sir John Rogerson Quay in the coming weeks.

The bridge is set to cater for cyclists and pedestrians and is due to be built in three years time.  

However Chris Andrews says the expected budget of 12 million euro would be better spent on dealing with the homelessness crisis.

He says new pieces of infrastructure for the city are welcome but right now families need to be housed:
