Coronavirus: Nine more deaths and 37 new cases in Republic

There have been another nine coronavirus-related deaths in the Republic.

37 new cases have also been confirmed this evening - the lowest number recorded since mid-March.

There have now been a total of 24,735 cases confirmed here since the outbreak began, while the number of deaths has reached 1,615.

Figures released this evening showed that more than 30,000 coronavirus tests were conducted last week.

Of those tests, 633 cases - or 2.1% of the total - were positive.

Data also shows that Dublin remains the county with the highest number of cases (11,894), followed by Cork (1,440 cases) and Kildare (1,395).
