Coronavirus: 66 New Cases And Two More Deaths In Republic

There have been two more coronavirus-related deaths in the Republic.

66 new cases of the virus have also been confirmed by the Department of Health this evening.

It brings the total number of cases since the outbreak began to 24,990, while the number of deaths now stands at 1,652 (with one previously confirmed death having been denotified).

Meanwhile, the HSE today released figures showing there are 36 patients in the country's intensive care units with COVID-19.

It's reduction of six people compared to yesterday's figure of 42.

The number is down from a peak of 160 early last month.
