Nearly everyone who went through a city based drug treatment programme have stayed away from crime.
Almost three-quarters of the people who did their rehab stint with Coolmine are still drug free two years later.
Mark is currently going through Coolmine's drug treatment programme - he was a heroin addict for 22 years and decided he'd had enough of drugs and crime.
He's already done the first phase of his rehab:
"Stepdown is you start at 10 in the morning and probably finish at about 4 in the day Monday to Friday. I kind of leave at 4 in the day, I go and probably do an N.A. meeting - do stuff that I've never done before growing up".
Paul graduated from Coolmine in 2012 after stints in prison including one in the middle of his treatment.
"I had learned that I blamed everyone else and I learned that dynamic in Coolmine that I've only myself to blame today if I use drugs. And that's what helped me stay drug free in prison".
He said it's helped him reconnect with his family.
"Things are great with my family, I've a good life with them today. I'm for them when I say I'll be there, I'm not going off and taking drugs. My children are actually proud of me".
Mark said his success is having a positive effect on one of his siblings.
"I've another brother in addiction who has seen what I'm getting back in my life so he's decided to go into treatment. So although your drug use has a ripple effect on families, when one goes into recovery from a family, it still has a ripple effect".
