Residents at Longboat Quay apartments will get a dig out from the Dublin Docklands Development Authority and the receiver to fix fire hazards.

It's after the complex on Sir John Rogerson's Quay was deamed a fire trap.

People who own apartments there have to come up with 4 million euro to carry out the repairs or face evacuation.

Talks took place last night and are expected to resume today to try to avoid a fire safety notice.

Residents say they need to know how much money is on the table before they can work out how much they are liable for.

Those living at the development are also to meet with the local council tomorrow.
