A property belonging to Sir Cliff Richard has been searched by officers investigating historical sex abuse.

A number of items have been taken from the house in Berkshire for further investigation but no arrests have been made.

A police spokesperson says the allegation involves a boy aged under 16 - and dates from the 1980s.

He says the search is not connected to Operation Yewtree.

In a statement, Cliff Richard said "For many months I have been aware of allegations against me of historic impropriety which have been circulating online. The allegations are completely false."
