Businesses across Dublin are encouraging us to start getting into the festive mood.

The City Council and Dublin City BID have announced that Dublin will begin turning on its Christmas light from this Thursday.

More than 30 streets across the city have been decked out for Christmas this year.

Dublin’s Lord Mayor has admitted that “Dublin City is a magical city with so much festivities on offer over Christmas for all the family.

Oisín Quinn said "I, as first citizen welcome all our residents and visitors to the City, to enjoy the atmosphere and many advantages and promotions our fair city has to offer over the Christmas period."

Richard Guiney, CEO of Dublin City Business Improvement District said “We would like to invite everyone to come in to see the lights and stay for the fun and excitement. Shop and drop will help you make a full day of the trip allowing you get shop by day and visit a restaurant or take in show in the evening."

Switch on dates and times:
