The Christmas dinner has been reported as the biggest reason for rows on Christmas Day.

A new survey shows that more than half of people said they would be involved in a family argument on Christmas Day, with most people pointing to the festive dinner as the cause of the scrap.

The study also found that 86 percent of people will be served a traditional turkey and ham meal.

Marketing Manager with Avonmore Food, Eithne O'Hara, says a lot of rows can happen before the dinner is eaten:

Meanwhile the most common Christmas present for men is a pair of socks.

Three quarters of males will get a pair in their stocking, with some experts claiming their popularity is generally down to a 'lack of imagination'.

But others say it's because of the increasing cost of Christmas.

Socks account for around 1 in 5 gifts bought from fashion departments.

Other presents becoming popular include onesies or other pairs of pyjamas.
