A man has been arrested on suspicion of trying to steal a car from outside a house in Finglas.

The driver, a woman in her twenties, was threatened out of the car yesterday evening.

It happened at 5:45PM.

The suspect, also in his twenties, was then forced from the car by neighbours who rushed to help.

The man ran from the scene, but was later arrested at a shop in Charlestown.

He was taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station for questioning.
