There are calls for closer planning between An Garda Síochána and any group organising a protest, especially in Dublin.
Garda Commissioner Nóirín O'Sullivan made the call following an incident during the week which saw a female Garda knocked unconscious during a protest outside Leinster House.
Due to the increase in the number of protests recently a review is being carried out into the safety of both the general public and members of An Garda Síochána.
